Evaluating Results and Introducing Nonlinearities in a Current-Driven Model

Part 3 of this 5-part course onelectro-thermal-mechanical modeling in COMSOL Multiphysics®builds upon the previous part by starting with the electrical-thermal problem of the model of a chip that was introduced and solved for. In this video, we start by demonstrating how to manually couple the physics for this multiphysics problem. We also alter the model setup by incorporating material nonlinearities into our simulation. We accomplish this through making both the electrical and thermal conductivity material properties functions of the temperature. This can lead to somesurprisingresults, which are discussed further during the lecture. Lastly, we introduce additional options for electrical excitation and evaluating the results of the model.
